#SheLooksAmazing

o-MICHELLE-OBAMA-VOGUE-570

So I definitely went ghost during fashion week not finishing up my favorites from each fashion week. I had planned on just doing a long drawn out post about my favorite shows such as Phillip Lim, Tibi, Roberto Cavalli, Rachel Roy and even some of Rachel Zoe’s show. But when I saw the reveal of First Lady Michelle Obama’s second Vogue cover shoot I was so distracted I had to show you all. She looks absolutely amazing, whether you voted for her husband or not, no one can honestly deny how absolutely gorgeous she looks. She rocked a blue and purple Reed Krakoff sheath (that came straight from her closet… such style!). Just stunning. Her bangs are killer, her body is killer and her designer of choice is killer. Definitely top stylish First Lady in my book, with taste and class galore no wonder she’s a style icon.

#MICHAEL KORS

Michael Kors_2_2

New York Fashion Week may be over but the impact that some designers made on me for A/W 2013 will last me all through the year. The first designer I want….no need to talk about would be my beloved Michael Kors. He rocked the runway (as always) with his futuristic meets sporty meets simple chic in a way that I didn’t expect. He kept me longing for more as each look more unique and cool than the last. I love his take on the pencil skirt giving it a parachute effect and making my desire to skydive deeper than before. Or the luxurious jackets that graced the runway followed by a pair of leather pants that I must save for and have in my wardrobe. Not to mention his always delicious and exquisite dresses. Needless to say I am head over heels about his collection and can’t wait to add a few pieces to my fall wear.

The bold primary colors made this collection really stand out for me. With his choice of taxi cab yellow, cobalt blue, and bright orange really brought this sporty chic came alive. The always welcomed black and cool camouflage is always welcomed in my book. Though I’m stuck on the leather pants and overcoats, the pantsuits and beautiful knits really all worked in this collection.

Fashion illustration never ceases to amaze me. As I did my routine blog reads that seem to still fill me with much inspiration and motivation to get myself out there in the fashion world. I was reading Susie Bubble’s blog she posted about an Illustrator by the name of Jerome LaMaar from New York who created sketches of old beloved cartoon characters sporting looks from SS13 collections. Daria rocking a Marni look and all five Sailor Moon girls working it in Dries Van Noten, Prada, Balmain, Celine, and Givenchy! What a wonderful spin to normal fashion illustrations, I was so excited about it I just had to share it with you guys. I was filled with so much nostalgia from looking at these illustrations thinking back to my childhood and remembering watching most of these ladies on the screen. Needless to say, I am very much into this post. So now I may have to get into nerd mode and put on reruns of Daria and sip on a glass of wine (still have to behave like a grown up) and laugh uncontrollably at her sluggish sarcasm.

Like so many I am jumping on the bandwagon of blogging…personal blogging, that is.  I love street style and definitely will continue to shoot it. But I wasn’t totally clear on what direction I wanted to take with my blog. So after much persuasion from people closest to me I am making the leap to outfit posting.  So here we go I’ll keep it short and sweet as I introduce myself. This blog is the sister site to my online store essenceofruwe.com, hopefully you enjoy my blog as much as I hope you like my shop.

I’m pencil skirt enthusiast, wine drinking participant, history junky. With my ability to talk about sex at any given moment and my fascination for travel and anything sequin I hope you will find me interesting enough and we can see a lot more of each other and hopefully be friends. So have a glass of wine and enter the world of my EOR blog.

On The Plane….JetBlue Airline

(On the iPhone)

Here’s another segment of a photo that I shot on my iPhone for my instagram(@essenceofruwe). I loved the grandma floral on her cardigan that she paired with a cream knit vest and skinny jeans. Follow on instagram to get updates of on the street photo style.

On The Subway…..New York

(On the iPhone)

I shot this photo on my iPhone for my instagram(@essenceofruwe). I was intrigued by the man’s dog that randomly popped out of his bag which drew my eyes to his ensemble and I love his whole cool, calm, hipster demeanor. The bike helped the look as well. Follow me on instagram for more on the street photo style.
